Doors

Posted by Walter Cahn

Recently I made a visit to get a check up and to discuss some unpleasant heart palpitations with the Homeopath/Medico I see from time to time. It appears that I am under stress. not sure what kind, but it seems that relationships may be a contributing factor. Well hello doc, what are you saying man!

Hmm so he submits this theory to me, relationships are like doors. We have many doors open, closed, half open or half closed and any measurable position of open or closed in between.

So this makes sense on one level, he then further points out that a door not fully open is difficult to travel through.

Ok I get it it so far, and then he reckons that semi open or closed doors represent abusive relationships. Whoa there, abusive he says. So explain the term abusive, to which he explains that often we sort of keep a door semi open and a hand on the door knob, to just quickly shut it in case of possibly being hurt.

Well ok there we have it, my stress is being caused by my keeping a hand on a door knob and possibly wretling to keep it open, whilst on the other end the person has a hand on the door trying to close it. Or something like that.

Seems that keeping a door open without the hand on the door knob requires faith and trust.

So how are your doors doing?

Out there

Out There

By Walter Cahn

Sitting on my office chair

Breathing stale bookish air

At the monitor I stare

Tapping keys like a hare

So look to the stair

Growl like a bear

Rather walk without care

On a brilliant day out there

With a damsel so fair

Snapping pics of the breeze in her hair

So mayhap I dare

Find time to spare

And entice a girl with flair

Out of her lair

With arms so bare

Jaunty and debonair

Its off to the fayre

That we repair

In a circle so square

Lions roar without compare

With manes in disrepair

Lights do flare

Tap dancing Astaire

Flying through midair

We peak au-solitaire

Ah what a fine pair

Relishing the pear

I do declare

To wish for such an affair!
